Sean Roach has presented engaging life science programs to over 250,000 students in Southern California since 2003, catering to audiences of all ages from preschoolers to adults.
Some of his accomplishments include providing educational enrichment on behalf of First Lady Michelle Obama, being featured on numerous televised programs, and working alongside American Humane as an animal handler specializing in insects, spiders, and other arthropods.
Before developing Education Through Nature Sean worked as Kidspace Children’s Museum's Lead Outreach Education Specialist and Animal Keeper. Sean has completed animal behavior coursework through UCLA, conducted research in partnership with the Los Angeles Zoo, and is ECE trained.

Before he was known for having the best beard in the bug business, in 2015 Roach co-wrote Backyard Bugs with Ilse Ortabasi Ph.D. Produced by The Dreamin Tree, Backyard Bugs debuted at the D.C. Environmental Films Festival.
Partnering with CCC Streaming Services Backyard Bugs was used to create a series of educational videos available by subscription to schools throughout North America. Backyard Bugs is now available for rent on Amazon Prime and can be streamed for free on Tubi!
